Hair Mats for soaking up oil spills

Here is a hair mat we developed using human hair from salons that we got from "Matter of Trust". This was made on the rolling machine using cotton gauze to hold it together July 2009.

The "Holes and Knots" Show at the Tactile Arts Center was this March & April. Here is my "Vortex in Time" piece and the Best of Show for Felt piece in the background on the door - "Felt Legends" wall hanging
As I am winding down my previous business I have some pieces coming up in several venues.First is the Zip 37 Gallery in Denver Colorado located at 3644 Navajo Street. The opening is this Friday (6/11/10) of the "Holes and Knots: 2nd Edition A Modern Interpretation of Lace". There are 9 artists in different media who are also members of the Tactile Arts Center - Rocky Mountain Region. Two of us are feltmakers.

The second venue is a juried show at the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts in Palmer Lake, Colorado. The title of the show is "America The Beautiful: The Fiber of Our Heart"

I have 3 pieces juried in:

1. Colors of Colorado - Coat

2. Mountain Stream - Shoulder Bag

3. Rocky Mountain Red Columbine - Scarf

About Me

I have been a feltmaker for 27 years and now I am retiring from my business of supplying books, kits and supplies and starting a new career teaching and doing felt art work.

My husband, Don is still going to be building rolling machines and making needle felting tools for several more years.
